SPFPA is a democratically-elected union that focuses on the representation of professionals in the security field. Also known as the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA), the Union has been a resource of protection, representation, education, and service to security police professionals for more than 70 years.
Established in 1948, SPFPA has its international headquarters in Roseville, Michigan—and currently provides organization and protection to its members from 200 Local chapters across the country. Among these Locals are more than 1,000 democratically-elected union officer representatives—as well as directors, vice presidents and staff who work tirelessly to protect and defend the interests of the membership.

Local SPFPA reps and staff work on behalf of security professionals in matters of contract negotiation, contract enforcement, grievance settlement, organization, work-related assistance and answering questions. The Union also works with a prominent legal firm with a primary focus on labor law and workers’ rights.
